Abstract
The aim of this paper was to analyse the differences in relation to ecological concern and environmental concern among a group of high school students who spent several days at a farm school doing work specific to the rural environment and another group who spent the same time in another rural environment practicing adventure sports activities. The sample included 102 students of 4th year of secondary school in Spain, aged between 15 and 16 years [mean (M) = 15.34, standard deviation (SD) = .70], of which 50 were boys and 52 were girls. A questionnaire composed of the Ecological Concern Scale and the Environmental Concern Scale was utilised. Two pre-test and a post-test with ANOVA comparisons between the control and experimental groups were performed. The results show an improvement in both scales for both groups, and the improvement was higher for the group of the farm school. The data are finally discussed.
