A raíz de una ceguera temporal, el autor empezó a reflexionar sobre la importancia de la mirada, tanto para la propia vida como para la pedagogía en general. En ese sentido, él afirma que la mirada, en sí, es raramente vista y observada de forma consciente en la escuela. Así, propone prestar atención tanto a la mirada que da el profesorado como a la que proyecta el alumnado. De este modo, podría obtenerse valiosa información que, utilizada de forma apropiada, brindaría múltiples oportunidades de educar.

Abstract
After a short period of blindness, the author began to reflect on the importance of the way of looking, both for one’sown life and for pedagogy in general. In this sense, he affirms that the way one looks at others is seldom seen and observed in a conscious way in schools. Thus, he proposes to pay attention to the looks given by the teachers as well as the ones projected by the students. As such, one could obtain valuable information that, used appropriately, could offer a myriad of opportunities to educate.
