Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate the relationship between speed of execution and metabolic risk in a sample of university students. During the year 2020 and the first semester of 2021, a descriptive and transversal study was developed, in 47 students (45 men and 12 women) belonging to a higher education institution located in the city of Bogotá, Colombia. For the measurement of the VE, the T-Force System system, Ergotech during the development of a direct protocol to determine the value of a maximum repetition (1RM) in the Free Sentadilla Exercises and Press Bank was used. For the assessment of the metabolic profile, a blood sample was carried out which was deposited in the cardiochek equipment with which total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL, and glucose levels were determined. The participants who developed an average average average speed in all the developed series, both in the squat test and in the exercise of flat press (Q1), presented a higher metabolic risk score compared to those they had a better performance (Q4) (p <0.05).
