Abstract

Es fundamental que las universidades no dejen de lado la formación humana de sus profesionales. El problema muchas veces son los alumnos que sólo están interesados en su formación científico-técnica. En el caso de la medicina esto es aún más importante por que esta ha de ser humanista. La Medicina de Montaña supone hacer medicina en situaciones de “extrema periferia”. El trabajo asistencial desarrollado durante dos meses en el campo base del Manaslu (8.163 m) nos ha llevado a cuestionar alguno de los “dogmas” recogidos en los libros de Medicina de Montaña.

Abstract

It’s fundamental that the universities do not leave of side the human education of it professionals. The problem is that often, are the pupils who only are interested in scientist-technology formation. In case of the medicine this is more important than other studies because it has to be humanist. The Mountain Medicine supposes doing medicine in situations of “extreme periphery“. The welfare work developed for two months in the base camp of the Manaslu (8.163m) has led us to questioning someone of the “dogmas” gathered in the books of Mountain Medicine.
