Factores que favorecen el desarrollo de la pericia en entrenadores expertos en baloncesto. (Factors that favor the development of expertness in basketball expert coaches).

Abstract

Actualmente se considera insuficiente calificar a un entrenador como experto exclusivamente a partir de los resultados obtenidos. El objetivo del presente artículo es analizar las características que poseen dichos entrenadores expertos, en baloncesto, así como los factores que han influido en el desarrollo de su pericia. Esta investigación cualitativa se realiza desde una perspectiva biográfica, analizando el itinerario vital de los entrenadores a través de una entrevista semiestructurada. Las conclusiones indican que el proceso de llegar a ser experto es un proceso único e individualizado. No obstante, presentan características personales comunes, como son la ilusión por entrenar, el compromiso con su profesión, el deseo de mejorar y la capacidad de dirigir y liderar grupos, así como algunos factores contextuales comunes que favorecen su compromiso.

Abstract

Nowadays, it is considered insufficient to describe exclusively to a coach as expert from the obtained results. The objective of the present article is to analyze the characteristics that have coaches expert in basketball, as well as the factors that have influence in the development of their skill. This qualitative investigation has been made from a biographical perspective, analyzing the vital itinerary of the coaches through a semistructured interview. The conclusions indicate that the process to get to be expert is a unique and individualized process. Although, is certain that, present common personal characteristics as they are the illusion to train, the commitment with their profession, desire to improve and the capacity to direct and to lead groups, besides to present some contextual factors that favour this commitment.
