Sports Events in Protected Natural Areas of Catalonia: A Comparative Study (2015-2023)

Resumen

Tomando como caso de estudio el conjunto de los 17 espacios naturales protegidos (ENP) integrados en la red Espacios Naturales de Protección Especial (ENPE) de Catalunya, el presente estudio examina los cambios de tendencia registrados entre los años 2015 y 2023 mediante la sistematización y análisis de la totalidad de eventos deportivos autorizados por parte de las entidades gestoras de los diferentes espacios. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos destacan, la identificación de una disminución global del número de eventos autorizados, la persistencia de la tendencia en la organización de eventos durante la temporada de primavera, así como el incremento del número de eventos deportivos vinculados a la modalidad de trail running. Un análisis más detallado de la tipología de eventos registrados revela que, aunque la mayoría fueron organizados por entidades sin fines de lucro, ha aumentado la presencia de eventos con fines de lucro y al margen del circuito federativo. Los hallazgos subrayan la necesidad de implementar estrategias de gestión sostenible para minimizar los impactos ambientales, mientras se mantiene la accesibilidad recreativa de los ENP.
