El presente libro forma parte de un área de conocimiento como es la Expresión Corporal que durante las tres últimas décadas ha soportado gran cantidad de perspectivas teóricas y planteamientos de diversa índole. Este hecho no ha permitido delimitar sus contenidos dentro de un área científica y de investigación didáctica. La UNESCO, en los códigos que reflejan las áreas de conocimiento en los campos de Ciencia y Tecnología no otorga a la Expresión Corporal dicho estatus.
